Core Hospitality partners with security provider Verkada to modernize safety at hotels in Denmark and Norway
October 6th, 2025
Core Hospitality is partnering up with security provider Verkada to modernize safety across the chain’s hotels in Denmark and Norway. The solution integrates surveillance cameras, doorbell cameras, and emergency intercoms into one system that is easy to install, manage, and scale.
“I have installed surveillance cameras for 15 years, and this is without a doubt the easiest installation I have ever done,” says Toke Svensson, Head of IT at Core Hospitality.
The new solutions include:
- Surveillance cameras in common areas
- Doorbell cameras at main entrances – to strengthen safety for guests and staff
- Doorbells at delivery doors – allowing staff to grant access from reception while maintaining control
- Emergency intercoms in fitness rooms – providing both audio and video connection when a guest presses the alarm button
- Central integration – making the system easy to operate and configure across all hotels
The goal is to improve safety for both guests and staff while also making operations more efficient and resource-saving.
From fragmented systems to one unified platform
Core Hospitality previously relied on older and fragmented security systems that required manual monitoring and were both more costly and inefficient to maintain. With Verkada’s cloud-based platform, the chain now gains a centralized overview, enabling all hotels to be managed through a single dashboard.
With the new cloud-based technology, Core Hospitality has achieved:
- 30% lower installation costs
- Faster incident handling – what used to take days now only takes minutes thanks to AI-powered search and real-time access
- Full compliance with both Marriott standards and U.S. regulatory requirements
- Improved operational efficiency through centralized monitoring, reducing the need for on-site staffing
The system has already been implemented at the hotels in Nordhavn, Fairfield by Marriott and Residence Inn by Marriott, as well as at A Place To Hotel in Esbjerg. It will be rolled out to additional hotels in the future as older systems are replaced.
“We have reduced our security incidents from several hours of work to just a few minutes. At the same time, we can grant the police temporary access to recordings, which saves us administrative work and enables faster case handling,” says Toke Leth Svensson.
