Marriott’s northernmost hotel tops out
November 24th, 2022
The 11th floor has been reached and the roof has been installed at the upcoming Moxy Tromsø hotel, Marriott’s northernmost location. The operator, Core Hospitality, is pleased that construction continues according to plan.
To celebrate the closing of the roof at the upcoming Moxy Hotels in Tromsø, a topping out ceremony was hosted by investor Daimyo on Wednesday, November 16th. The interior and technical work has begun inside the hotel, which is expected to open in just over half a year.
“The topping out ceremony is a big milestone for the project. I would like to thank all involved partners for the collaboration so far and look very much forward to the final months before opening,” says Per Denker Sørensen, CEO of Core Hospitality.
New lifestyle destination for Marriott Bonvoy
While owing the bragging rights of being Marriott International’s northernmost location, Moxy Tromsø will also add a new destination for the more than 170 million members of Marriott Bonvoy. The new hotel will offer the loyalty members a new place to earn and redeem points while increasing the value of the program to domestic travelers as well.
“With the topping out ceremony, we are one step closer to introducing the third Moxy Hotels in Norway, bringing an international lifestyle hotel to the city of Tromsø. We expect the hotel to become a popular place for Marriott Bonvoy members to redeem their points as a new lifestyle destination is made available,” says Kristian Haaber, Brand Manager of Core Hospitality.
In addition to the powerful Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, the hotel is set to be competitive from a sustainability perspective, too. The hotel aims to be both BREEAM Very Good and Green Key certified after opening.
