Core Hospitality amps up IT competences
November 6th, 2019
Morten Larsen is among the most experienced IT profiles in the hospitality industry, and he now transferring to Core Hospitality, a white-label hotel operator in the Nordics. His new role as Hospitality Applications Manager makes him responsible for developing and improving the hotel operator’s technologies.
On November 1st, Morten Larsen began in his new role as Hospitality Applications Manager at Core Hospitality, the Danish hotel management company that operates Moxy in Copenhagen, Best Western Plus near Copenhagen Airport, and Hotel Marina north of Copenhagen. Morten will take on responsibility of the development and improvement of the operator’s technologies, among which is the property management system Opera. Morten has experience from Micros-Fidelio (since acquired by Oracle), which owns the Opera system, and many years’ experience as implementation specialist, IT project manager, IT manager and hotel application consultant from, among others, Bella Sky, RAW IT and, most recently, Brøchner Hotels.
Technology’s growing impact on hospitality
Achieving success in hotel operations increasingly depends on technology solutions, which is only becoming even more complex. A majority of sales in the hospitality industry is distributed through digital platforms, and it is essential to be connected to these. The increasing competition makes it more important for hotels to secure distribution through the right channels than ever, demanding that hotel operators analyze relevant data and adjust their strategy based on this.
“The new role at Core Hospitality is important to our development. As a professional third-party hotel operator, we can operate all types of hotels and brands, and this is only possible because we have a talented team of people. Morten adds new competences to our commercial team, and we look very much forward to welcoming him to the team,” says Per Denker Sørensen, CEO of Core Hospitality.
