Future of famous Danish hotel secured
October 24th, 2017
After a month of uncertainty among the staff at Hotel Marina in Vedbæk, north of Copenhagen, they can now breathe a sigh of relief. The operations of the 126-room large conference hotel by the Oresund coast will by January 1st, 2018 be taken over by Core Hospitality. The hotel, which was home to the national football team of Denmark for 25 years, continues as ‘Hotel Marina’, while the property’s long-term plans are still under development.
Operator transfer
Core Hospitality is taking over the operations as of January 1st, 2018. Thus, the hotel’s operations will continue after the turn of the year, the current staff will be given the opportunity of staying at the hotel, and guests will also be able to book stayovers in Vedbæk in 2018. To benefit all stakeholders; the conference rooms, the restaurants, and other facilities are to be developed further in cooperation with the new owner.
“We are satisfied with our agreement with Core Hospitality, which is a highly professional hotel operator with a strong organization. We trust that Core Hospitality can optimize the operations of the hotel and thus create the foundation for the future developments of Hotel Marina,” states Henrik Westermann, the lawyer representing the new group of owners.
About Core Hospitality
Core Hospitality is a newly established Danish white label hotel operator as well as a sister company to Zleep Hotels, a Danish economy brand. Core Hospitality is independent of brands, thus ensuring it can operate all types of hotel concepts. As a sister company to Zleep Hotels, several synergies are created as Core Hospitality can draw on the strong, centralized organization. The intention is that Moxy Copenhagen, which is currently being developed, will be run by Core Hospitality as well.
“We have known that Zleep Hotels were to operate other types of hotels than modern economy hotels for a long time. And we have been lucky to become part of the development of the famous Hotel Marina in Vedbæk. It was an obvious next step for us to establish Core Hospitality to develop and operate hotels with other brands than Zleep. Hotel Marina is a strong addition to our pipeline of Zleep hotels, and we look very much forward to cooperating with the staff at the hotel and the owners of the property,” says Peter Haaber, CEO of Core Hospitality and Zleep Hotels.
